Grubhub expands to Brownsville, Texas creating job opportunities and expanded delivery services for local and chain restaurants

BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS — The Brownsville Community Improvement Corporation (BCIC), Brownsville’s “type b” economic development organization, would like to welcome the “share economy” technology company, Grubhub, to Brownsville, Texas.

Grubhub Inc., along with its subsidiaries, provide an online and mobile platform for restaurant pick-up and delivery orders in the United States. The company recently expanded their platform to Brownsville, Texas early June 2018 and is now seeking to engage the community to utilize their delivery and pick-up orders platform.

The BCIC is actively looking to continue recruiting “share economy” technology companies into the area to increase job creation, improve commerce and the city’s quality of life. Josh Mejia, Marketing Coordinator for the BCIC stated the following,

“Tech companies, such as Grubhub, not only provide our local and chain businesses with expanded services but also provide an alternative form of income for those who are looking for a part-time job or simply looking to make extra cash. The BCIC firmly believes in developing an innovative economy for our residents to ensure we remain competitive in our region.”
